DMARC Record Checker

Inspect your domain's live DMARC record. Verify policy enforcement levels, aggregate reporting addresses, and inbox deliverability compliance.

Understanding Your DMARC Record

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) is an open email security protocol designed to protect email domains from spoofing, phishing, and business email compromise (BEC). DMARC builds upon Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) by telling receiving mail servers how to treat emails that fail authentication.

What Do DMARC Policy Tags Mean?

  • p=none (Monitoring Mode): The receiving server accepts the email regardless of authentication status and sends daily XML reports to the address listed in your rua= tag. This mode provides visibility into your sending sources without risking legitimate email delivery.
  • p=quarantine (Spam Redirection): Unauthorised emails that fail SPF and DKIM alignment are delivered directly to the recipient's spam or junk folder. This is an effective intermediate enforcement step.
  • p=reject (Full Protection): The receiving mail server completely blocks and drops unauthorised emails before they reach the recipient's mailbox. This delivers the highest level of domain protection against impersonation attacks.

Google and Yahoo Bulk Sender Requirements

In 2024, Google and Yahoo introduced mandatory authentication standards for senders delivering email to Gmail and Yahoo Mail addresses. Senders must maintain a valid DMARC record, maintain aligned SPF and DKIM signatures, and keep spam complaint rates below 0.3%. Domains without a published DMARC policy risk message delays and outright delivery rejection.

How to Transition Safely to p=reject

Moving from p=none to p=reject requires auditing aggregate reports to ensure all legitimate services (such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zendesk, Salesforce, and marketing automation platforms) have valid SPF and DKIM alignment. DMARCify automates this audit process by translating dense XML reports into clear, actionable steps.

Tired of Manually Parsing XML Reports?

DMARCify automatically ingests your daily DMARC aggregate reports, identifies shadow email senders, and guides your transition to p=reject safely.
