How to Set Up BIMI in DNS (Step-by-Step)
BIMI links your verified brand logo directly to your authenticated outgoing emails. Follow these 4 steps to deploy it correctly:
Host the SVG Logo
Upload your converted SVG Tiny-PS logo to your web server or CDN over HTTPS. Ensure it returns Content-Type: image/svg+xml and allows public fetching.
Add DNS TXT Record
In your DNS manager, create a new TXT record with Name set to default._bimi and Value set to your generated v=BIMI1; l=https://... string.
Enforce DMARC
BIMI requires DMARC enforcement. Your domain DMARC policy must be p=quarantine or p=reject with pct=100. Domains on p=none are ignored.
VMC Certificate (Optional)
Yahoo and Fastmail display logos without a certificate. Gmail and Apple Mail require a paid Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) from DigiCert or Entrust.

What Makes an SVG BIMI Compliant?
BIMI requires SVG files to comply with the SVG Tiny 1.2 Portable/Secure (Tiny-PS) profile. Standard SVGs exported from Figma, Illustrator, or Sketch often contain scripts, embedded raster images, or external styles that cause inbox providers to reject the image.
Our tool automatically enforces:
- Removal of all
<script>tags and inline JavaScript event listeners (preventing security exploits). - Removal of raster
<image>elements and external CSS references. - Injection of standard attributes:
version="1.2"andbaseProfile="tiny-ps". - Square 1:1 aspect ratio normalisation for perfect circular display across email clients.
